DC Studios Ltd is a luxury home architect in Kigali designing private houses, villas and family residences across Rwanda. Every home we design is drawn from scratch for your site, your family and your budget — we do not sell off-the-shelf house plans.
Rwanda's hillsides, light and climate reward architecture that responds to them. We start with the land: how the slope falls, where the sun tracks, which views are worth framing and how air moves through the house. The result is a modern house design that stays cool without relying on air conditioning, and that belongs to its site rather than sitting on top of it.
Because our architects and engineers work under one roof, your structural design, MEP layout and building permit drawings are coordinated from day one.
Every residential commission includes:
Bespoke houses on Kigali's hillsides and in Rwanda's provinces — designed for privacy, view and generous natural light. Typically 250–800m² with landscaped grounds, staff quarters and covered outdoor living.
Contemporary three- to five-bedroom homes that balance ambition with a realistic build budget. Efficient plans, durable local materials and a layout that works as the family grows.
Multi-unit residential buildings for owner-occupiers and rental investors — optimised for unit yield, daylight to every apartment, and compliance with Kigali Master Plan density requirements.
Reworking an existing house — adding a floor, opening up a plan, or bringing an older Kigali property up to a contemporary standard of comfort and finish.
Passive cooling, rainwater harvesting, solar integration and locally sourced materials — homes designed to meet Rwanda's green building standards and to cost less to run.
Joinery, finishes, lighting and furniture specification carried through from the architecture, so the inside of the house resolves as carefully as the outside.
Indicative construction costs in Kigali, excluding land and professional fees. Use these as a planning range — we produce an accurate Bill of Quantities once the design is resolved.

Start Your ProjectArchitect fees in Rwanda typically run 3–10% of total construction cost, depending on scope and level of service. For a custom luxury home we usually quote a fixed fee once the brief and site are confirmed, so you know the number before design work begins. See our full guide to architect fees in Rwanda.
